Will loading Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 affect RecFind?

Summary

GMB have tested RecFind v5.0.0e (the current release at time of writing this article) with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and found no incompatibility issues.

With all upgrades we still recommend that you perform your own tests and research to confirm that the hardware and other third-party applications are also not adversely affected by the installation of Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.

Detailed Information

For RecFind the "server" is used primarily as a file server and therefore not affected by the enhanced security and other changes implemented in the Windows Server 2003 service pack.

The only RecFind component which runs on the server itself is the RecQueryTC application, running via Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Testing found no issues with RecQueryTC.

For more information on Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 please refer to the Microsoft web site http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/servicepack/default.mspx.
