RecFind 5.0
This release was previously known as RecFind
4.1 but because we made so many major changes it was more
appropriate to label it as a major new release (5.0) rather than as an
update (4.1).
This release contains more than 300 changes to RecFind 4.0, the
previous release. Whereas we have changed virtually every module and even
the appearance of RecFind, the major changes are in the areas of:
Search - We have added all new Metadata fields and tables to
the Search function. We have also programmed the Search module to
"automatically" add new search functions when you design new
fields and forms.
Workflow - A new graphical interface makes Procedures
easier and faster to define; ability to define dependencies between
individual Actions in a Procedure delaying the allocation of dependent
Actions until the predecessor is complete.
Correspondence Management - Added ability to manage authors
and addressees in a table, 100 standard letters (up from 10), ability to
insert your "standard" paragraphs, ability to email standard
letters, ability to export information to Word mail merge.
Imaging - Enhanced multi-page TIFF support, improved imaging
control.
Electronic Document Management - New attachment profile, many
additional fields, Author Authority file, etc. Ability to easily email a
document profile and attachments from within RecFind.
Configurable Data Model - You can now dynamically add fields,
screens and tables without programming. You can also make some fields
"invisible" and RecFind 5.0 will dynamically resize the
screens affected. As in 4.0, you can still change the caption on any
field, including all new Metadata fields. This powerful feature now
allows you to configure RecFind "databases" as completely
different application s utilizing different terminology, tables, search
functions and screens and run them all with a single copy of RecFind.
When you create new fields RecFind 5.0 automatically adds them to the
RecFind search screens.
Security - New Configurable Security Model with the ability to
differentiate between filing and access rights. Ability to enforce
minimum length of Password plus ability to enforce life of Password (USDOJ
standard). Privilege levels are now 100% user configurable replacing the
old 0 to 9 fixed privilege levels.
Audit Trail - RecFind now logs all transactions including
views and Administrator transaction; enhanced Audit reporting program.
Clone Feature - You can now build standard File, Document and
Box profile "templates" and use these to quickly and easily
create new Profiles using the Clone button.
User Interface - Much enhanced with a greater use of graphics,
colors and sounds.
Enhanced Reporting - A new reporting engine makes reporting an
asynchronous process, releasing the workstation and speeding up reports.
SMTP Email Support - (For sites running older email systems
such as CC:mail)
New and more powerful RecFind File Filter (facilitating the
automatic capture of electronic documents and images)
New and more powerful RecFind RAF module (for archiving
records to second level storage).
RecFind-Button - Additional fields and options plus the Button
now automatically collects key Metadata from each email.
Import/Export - Enhanced to include all the additional fields
in RecFind PLUS it now allows the export and import of electronic and
image objects as well as Metadata.
HSSM - New and improved High Speed Scanning Module.
DoD5015.2 - We have added all mandatory Metadata fields and function
from the DoD5015.2 specification, (Strict adherence to DoD5015.2
standards can be turned on or off via a Configuration switch).
Section 508 Compliance - RecFind 5.0 has been redesigned as
per the 508 compliance standards. A copy of our compliance statement
will be posted on our website.
The World's first Multitasking Application
RecFind 5.0 is now the world's first multi-tasking application; able
to run multiple applications simultaneously. For example, all of the
following applications can be run concurrently by one copy of RecFind
Corporate:
- Correspondence management
- Electronic document management
- Records management
- Email management
- Imaging
- Workflow
- Human resources management
- Accounts payable processing
- Customer action request system
- Property management
- Knowledge Portal
The customer can create as many applications
as required and can modify the data model as well as any report without
programming.
RecFind 5.0 will allow any customer to address
a diverse set of application needs while minimizing the workload, costs
and "risks" normally associated with major application
rollouts because the same software (RecFind Corporate) runs a multitude
of seemingly diverse applications.
RecFind 5.0 is a totally unique information
management solution.
Those customers under Warranty or a current
Automatic Software Upgrade (ASU) agreement with GMB will receive this
new release automatically. This is your ASU investment at work!
Customer not under warranty or without a
current ASU agreement should contact this office for details on how they
can upgrade to RecFind 5.0.
